woooo It's Been a minute since i REALLY sat down and updated with yall whats been goin on. Like yall dont know anyway, haha.
Well at the start of the year we were mad focused! Wrapping up the album, shutting down shows like it was a hobby for us, gearin up for SXSW and preparing to unleash our Debut to the world! Crazy huh!? I know. We started by opening for the TEACHER!!! the one and only Krs-One. Now if yall dont know KRS if a HUGE part of my whole style, demeanor as well as a huge inspiration for me doing this music thing. So to share the stage was INCREDIBLE and certainly an experience i will NEVER forget! not to mention it gave our name a lil more clout! haha.
We also saw Mic Skills release DEFIANT to a very welcoming Mission Control. Classic Album if you ask me! I swear you can hear how much that man puts into his music with just one listen! The Very next month was had a private Listening Party for our album at the Tipping Point, Shouts to Thomas for hosting and being one our biggest supporters in the city! Free Music, Free Booze and Shoes EVERYWHERE! what else can you ask for!!!??? haha. And for yall askin bout the HOT bartender I had come thru, dont, shes a homie and she taken! LMAO!!!! Then the next week..... MISSION CONTROL PRESENTS THE RESILIENCE ALBUM RELEASE PARTY!!!! Yo if you were NOT in the building that night.... You missed a truly mesmerizing show! We surprised alot of cats by havin the INCREDIBLY TALENTED Hueman Band play behind us and took the end of the show to a whole 'nother atmosphere!!!! Sold alot of albums, met more people, impressed alot of people and made some good friends.
SXSW was up next and we were mad excited from having our first little taste of it last year. This year did NOT let down. Met many a new artists both up-and-coming and established. Got our Album in some good hands and got great reviews afterwards! Opening ALOT of doors, but of course... yall gotta wait and see what happens with that! haha! Saw Kanye and the G.O.O.D. Music fam KILL it at the Fader Fort, Kicked with Kidz in the Hall, Picnic Tyme, Cool Kids, Rakewon the chef, and my mans Bun-B at the LRG party and tons more! what made it even better is around this time i was JUST gettin hooked on Twitter! So alot of peeps were postin where they were at and all the secret shows were normal topic on peeps' posts! So that DEF helped us have a good time and meet more peeps and fans alike! More shows after that, kept up with contacts we made. Killed the Mission Control 3 yr. anniversary and popped champagne all night! ITS A CELEBRATION!!!!! or at least it was, haha. Opened for Too $hort at Warehouse Live. Interesting Night that was, but we still killed it! Back doored that with the Mission Control J-Dilla Tribute! and had a blast that night watching Ace Boogie, and THE Niyat leave a crowd in awe and drooling for more!!!! YIKES!!!!!
So I guess so far so good for 2009. While we were in Austin for SXSW we also took advantage and filmed part of our debut Video for Smoothness, Coolness and if you haven't seen the teaser peep the blog post b4 this one!!!!!! As for whats coming up....
